It’s hardly a secret that Post Malone has undergone a dramatic body transformation this year, losing nearly 60 pounds. The 28-year-old, born Austin Richard Post, has opened up about his weight loss before, but he revealed more insight into his diet this week during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show.
The host first pointed out that Post Malone “lost a shitload of weight,” and not on the weight loss drug Ozempic but “the old fashioned way.” When asked how he did it, the “White Iverson” rapper preached a sensible diet, evidently smothered in hot sauce.
“The first step was, I remember I went on tour, and I was like, you know what? I’m gonna eat grilled chicken, I’m gonna eat carrots, and I’m gonna have a little bit of white rice every night, with Buffalo sauce,” he explained. “Or not Buffalo sauce—hot sauce has no calories in it. I was blown away! I was like wait, what the fuck is actually going on? Hot sauce has no calories in it, this shit is sick! I get it!”
“So I remember on tour, I stopped eating a lot of fried stuff, a lot of pizza, all that stuff, because usually at the end of the day after a show, you’re done, you finish up around two o’clock, you don’t really know what city you’re in, you don’t really know where you are,” Post Malone continued. “You’re just in the bus, so it’s like, what’s really open? And it’s always like, you know, greasy stuff.”
“And so I was like, okay, let’s just try to do this,” he added. “And I lost 20 pounds doing that, and I was like, let’s keep going, let’s keep building, and we just kept fucking rocking and rolling.”

Post Malone previously opened up about his weight loss during a conversation with Joe Rogan in August, revealing that he had gone from 240 pounds to about 185 pounds by cutting back on soda. Before that, he had likewise broached the subject on Instagram back in April after some fans expressed concern.
“I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier,” he wrote at the time, attributing his lifestyle change to wanting to get healthy for his baby daughter who was born last year. “I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda, and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel. Next up is smokes and brews, but i like to consider myself a patient man.”
As you can see in the Howard Stern clip below, he clearly still hasn’t gotten around to kicking his tobacco habit, but progress is progress.
